Cynthia Vincent Holiday 2010 Collection

It really is Christmas in July!...Or, at least it totally feels that way after viewing the Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent Holiday 2010 Collection. My last visit to the CV showroom (here) resulted in a complete neeeeeed for soooo many pieces from her Fall Collection, which was definitely my style: completely "rock star" with loads of studs and velvet, velvet, velvet (which, at this point, you've probably read a million times before is my absolute favorite material at the moment). The Holiday Collection is the perfect bridge from the autumn line and embodies all of my favorite aspects from the fall collection...plus MORE. Easy jersey fabrics, beautifully detailed hammered silk, gorgeous chiffon, in addition to innovative prints, sequins, and stunning jewel details...this collection simply equates to love, love, and more love. And YESSSSS...FINALLY...wait for this...an OVERSIZED VELVET TOP (what I have been searching and searching and searching and searching for!!!!). Sooooooo many great party outfits for the holiday season! And being that the holidays are all about the parties, isn't that all we need?!

Thanks, as always, to Angie over at the Cynthia Vincent showroom for showing me the collection and getting me a copy of the Look Book! Check out some of my favorites below (starting with that oversized velvet top that I've been after for so long!):

Alexander Berardi Fall/Winter Collection 2010

NY Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week
Alexander Berardi Fall/Winter Collection 2010, Altman Building

What I wore: Reworked Vintage Plaid Top with Shoulder Cut-Outs by First of a Kind, Leggings by Lauren Conrad, Belt by Streets Ahead, Shoes by Jeffrey Campbell

Alexander Barardi is young, talented, and a true New Yorker. Three things I know that we alllllll like! (Especially the third, right?!) Born and raised on the Upper East Side his newest collection can best be described as super sophisticated. Delicate. Feminine. Totally embodies that uptown elegance. AAAANNDDD, wait for this...the line is even organic/environmentally friendly for all of you "Go Green" people! I mean really...who can't respect a designer that is up with the times?! Oh, and I must add (and those of you that know me already know...), I loooooove velvet!!(Check out those pants!!)

Sorry, my video came out quite blurry, but take a peek at the show here

Backstage at Farah Angsana

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week
Backstage at Farah Angsana, Salon Tent, Bryant Park

As a stylist, I sometimes find it more fun to work backstage rather than watch the show from the front of the house. There is soooo much energy and excitement backstage, and meeting and dressing all the models is soooooooo much fun! Every Fashion Week, I make an effort to work some shows and this Fashion Week is no exception. Although taking pictures backstage is strictly prohibited (I snuck you just one from the make-up room before anyone arrived!), I can tell you that Farah Angsana's couture dresses were BEAUTIFUL. I'll get you some press pictures soon for sure! For now, you should definitely check out her past lines HERE at her website!
