Drugstore Gem: Lumene Time Freeze Eye Perfecting Treatment

Lately I have noticed puffiness underneath my eyes which means I am not getting enough rest or old age *gasp* is sneaking up on me. I believe in fighting the signs of aging. My current under eye puffiness will be a temporary problem. I'm okay with getting older but I'll be darned if I start to look older.

Enter Lumene Time Freeze Eye Perfecting Treatment. I picked this up last week during one of my CVS trips. Lumene products are affordable, gentle and effective. I am very impressed with this eye treatment.

The treatment promises to diminish puffiness and firm the skin all around the eyes. You apply it beneath your eyes and to the lids. The ingredients include Lumene's ever present Arctic Heather, plant proteins, and Metabiotics Resveratrol. Like all Lumene products this product contains over 95% natural ingredients.

Doe foot applicator
After my first use, I noticed immediately how the skin beneath my eyes became firmer and the normal puffiness disappeared. I use it twice a day and I have seen a real difference around my eyes. The treatment costs $19.99 and I had a $6 in Extra Care bucks that I used towards my purchase. Gotta love CVS Extra Care Card and their Beauty Club. Time Freeze Eye Perfecting Treatment is definitely one to add to your product arsenal!

Nuance by Salma Hayek

Actress, director, and producer Salma Hayek has a new line of beauty products coming to your local CVS drugstore this August. Nuance is a full collection of makeup, hair, and skin products.

The inspiration behind Nuance is Salma's late grandmother who worked as cosmetologist. Nuance will be a wallet friendly collection. The items will cost between $7.99 and $19.99.

I can say with 100% certainty that I do not need another eyeshadow, lipgloss, mascara, skincare product or body lotions but the product junkie in me will not be able to resist testing this collection.

Drugstore Gems: Lumene Time Freeze Firming Day Cream {Lumene Luvah}

lumene time freeze firming day cream

Today’s drugstore gem is by one of my favorite brands, Lumene. I have never had a bad experience with any Lumene products.

For the past three weeks, I have used Time Freeze Firming Day Cream as an eye cream. I wasn’t too happy with the eye cream I was previously using and as soon as I used the last of it, I went in search of a better one. While I was at CVS, I decided to see what other options there were before I went to  high end brands like Lancome, Estee Lauder, or Chanel. Budget first!

Lumene Time Freeze Instant Cooling Eye Stick was $21.99 and in my opinion the stick was too small for the price. I don’t have dark circles, wrinkles, or puffiness eye issues yet, but I am in my 30’s and I want to keep the skin around my eyes tight. I decided to try the Firming Day Cream. CVS carries the 0.5 oz travel size for $3.99, which is what I purchased.

I apply the cream morning and night. I use it under my eyes and all around the lids. Three weeks of continuous use, has made the skin around my eyes much firmer and smoother. I love it! I highly suggest giving it a try if you want to start taking good care of the delicate skin around your eyes.

I’m a Lumene Luvah!

Until next time!!

A Life of Style: I'm Cocoa Buttery

My nemesis, winter has arrived to spread bitter cold and icy air all over the city of Chicago.

Gotta love Midwest living...

This winter I am fighting dry skin with cocoa butter. Palmer's Cocoa Butter is a long time favorite product. I slather it on while my skin is slightly damp and rub it in very well. Then I breathe in all that warm cocoa buttery scent. Aaaahhh...

Next I spray on CVS Pharmacy Cocoa Butter Dry Oil Spray. This helps seal the moisture in and is a great way to layer all that wonderful cocoa loveliness.

My skin stays smooth and moisturized throughout the whole day.

Stay Cocoa Butterlicious!

(p.s. pay no attention to my cluttered bathroom shelves. I'm a product junkie.)

A Life of Style Product Review: Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express Mascara

I purchased The Colossal Volum' Express mascara from CVS on Monday and I've been testing it out all this week.

This is a WINNER in my book. It gave me lots of volume, doesn't irritate my eyes, hasn't flaked, and best of all NO CLUMPS. The brush is pretty big which I like and I have no problems getting all my lashes with 2 to 3 coats. I wanted this mascara in Glam Black but they were all out so I got Classic Black which seems plenty dark to me. I curl my lashes before applying and I love the volume I get as a result. Colossal Volum' has replaced both my favorite Cover Girl mascaras, Lash Exact and Volume Exact, both of them irritate my eyes something terrible :(

And another major plus about Colossal is that my lashes aren't left hard. I hate mascaras that make your lashes hard and bristle like.

Colossal Volum' was on sale at CVS this week for $4.99 with an instant saving of $2.00 with your Extra Care card and I had a $1.00 Extra Buck coupon so I paid $2.19 with tax. That's my type of beauty buy ;)

Have you tried Colossal Volum'? What did you think of it?

A Life of Style Product Review: Sally Hansen Natural Butter Lip Shine in Fresh

Can you believe I left the house without lip gloss yesterday? I am as shocked as you all are.

I left my lip gloss on the sink after putting it on, totally forgetting to put it in my makeup bag. When I got to work and reached into my bag I had that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. Yes. It is that serious.

Thank the Beauty Gods there's a CVS in the lobby of my office building. I was just looking for something to get me through the day so I grabbed a tube of Sally Hansen Natural Butter Lip Shine in Fresh. I had no expectations or prior knowledge of this product at all. I had a $4 Extra Care bucks coupon and the gloss was $5.99, with tax I paid $2.16 and left CVS glossy and happy =)

When I applied it, I was pleasantly surprised. It's super shiny and not sticky. It feels really nice on my lips too. Although Fresh looks pale pink in the tube, it goes on slightly sheer. I think this is a great gloss to keep in your purse at all times.
