How I Got My SAG Card

Way back in the day this is the first movie role I had ever received. This was my small splash and intro into the film world. Watch this clip, and see me play the lead singer of the Cadillacs in the movie "The Temptations"! Which oddly enough I still get residual checks, and they also air this movie a ton on VH-1 movies that rock! ENJOY!!!! Oh, and please don't laugh at my stupid wig, and the last pose that I hit!!!!

Breathtaking Jewelry

Today is dedicated to Mary-Kate.
But come on, does she not have THE BEST collection of jewelry that you have ever seen?

Salt

I saw the movie Salt the other day, and I enjoyed the action flick! Angelina Joile was doing things in this movie, that I had never seen on screen before. It most of been fun to film some of these intense stunts. She is beautiful, tough, and just really good at this genre of film making. The movie had a great pace, and moved forward very fast! I couldn't believe it was over, when we got to the end of the film. However, the ending upset me, and I wanted more. Which is a sign of good film making, as I honestly could have sat there for another hour, and watched Angelina kick butt. It was definitely a summer action movie, and served it's purpose at the movie theater. These type of films are not my favorite, but I am learning to take them for what they are, and to sit back, and enjoy this aesthetic! I will say this, Salt had a compelling, thought provoking plot, new action stunts, and great acting! You couldn't go wrong with the team of actors Angelina was surrounded around. Liev Schreiber is one of the the best actors we have in Hollywood, and has proven himself to also be an extraordinary stage actor. Chiwetel Ejiofor is slowly becoming someone in Hollywood to watch out for, and I want to see him as the leading man he so deserves. His talents are so untouchable, and I just love watching his work. I enjoyed Salt, will I own the movie? NO! Did it change my life? NO! Was it entertaining, thrilling, action packed, and does it have good acting? YES!!!!

Online Window Shopping…

1960 maxi dress

1960 maxi dress2

Happy Friday Lovelies!!!!

I engaged in a little online window shopping* at around 8:30 a.m. today. I visited Etsy for a much needed quick vintage fix. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, just browsing some of my favorite shops before I began my work day.

Cherry Bloom Vintage is one of my favorite shops. The seller, Tara has a good eye and she always finds the cutest items. Her prices are also very affordable

When I saw this 1960’s Mod Maxi dress all I heard was buy me. So I did. I can’t wait to get my “new” dress.

I also ordered this blouse from a seller that I stumbled upon while searching for something else and if you know anything about searching for one item on Etsy, then one word comes to mind: impossible! LOL!

Barlow Holiday 2010 Collection

"Christmas in July" is not even close to being enough in this case. What I am about to show you...I want now. Last month I professed my love for the brand Barlow (see that here), and now I am more than positive that I can confirm an undying obsession and an immediate need for, once again, this brand's entire collection. Their Holiday 2010 Collection, which is only their third collection ever produced, is just as catastrophic and wildly fun as their Fall 2010 line. Mary Girard Coonan and Alice Barlow clearly, clearly, clearlyyyy have two of the most creative minds I have ever seen when it comes to fashion design. Again, it is humor, mockery, and the idea of turning the classics upside-down that played large roles in the creation of their clothing. Robotic prints, an array of textures, as well as crazy-shaped garments all verify a true sense of authenticity and innovation. By channelling the early 80s movie Tron, as well as Mad Max, the late 70s flick from (then little known) Mel Gibson, they prove to be ahead of the curve as it was just released that Disney has created a Tron remake and that the fourth installment to the Mad Max series is currently in production (set for a 2011 release)! Tron:Legacy will hit theaters on December 17, 2010 and the Barlow Holiday 2010 Collection will hit the market just in time for the premier. All proof that this holiday season will be OUT.OF.CONTROL.

Thank you, as always, to Angie over at the showroom for showing me the collection and giving me the Holiday 2010 Look Book!
